If you haven't been to Paul Johnson's (do you have to ask???) website, take
a look see:
I sent him an email, asking him about the South Bay Reunion show, and
mentioned our little group here. He had the following bit of news which he
said I could share with the group:
On The South Bay Reunion show: it's basically on his to do list to reissue
the video from this show, but it is way down on the priority list right now.
He also doesn't think he even has a copy himself! So he has to hunt down the
master and put some work on it someday... keeping visiting his site for news
about this in the future.
He saw some of the posts about Eddie and here is what he had to say
(verbatim):
"I did check out the Surf Guitar 101 e-list - I had heard about this before
but had not gone there 'til now. I read some of the posts with interest -
especially regarding my old partner Eddie Bertrand. BTW - he has been living
in Rolling Hills for the past several years, spending lots of time in his
home studio working on his own projects. He has continued to develop his
music, but not so much along surf music lines. He can still "get it back" on
occasion - we've had two or three reunions in recent years - but he has to
work at getting into the simplicity of the surf style, as his natural bent
these days is to play in a '70s classic rock vein."
There you have it! Pretty cool!
Okay, I really have to start packing for the Surf Coasters shows! I'm outta
here for a few days...!
Peace out,
BN
