does anyone know of any cds with any jesters tracks. their song the
jester is awesome but i cant find it on cd anywhere.
This has been mentioned before, but the "split" CD featuring Adrian and the
Sunsets ("Breakthrough" album, 13 tracks) and Jim Messina and the Jesters
("The Dragsters" album, 15 tracks) was released by the questionable "Surf"
label a while back (1995, according to the tray card). It does feature "The
Jester" track.

I'd really like a copy of that CD, if anyone knows of a source. Every one I
found was out of stock.
If you're looking for Messina, I cant help you - but if you're looking for
the "Jester" track, a lot of really good bands have covered it. Off the top
of my head, The Blue Hawaiians did a nice take on their must-own album "Live
at the Lava Lounge". I would imagine LSJ has done it somewhere along the
line, as they have played a lot of the 'classics' with a deadnuts perfection
(like "Our Favorite Martian" on the "Sing Along with.." bonus CD - perfect!)
I'm sure there are a lot more out there, I'm just not that well schooled in
the late stuff.

I recently picked up the CD that Dana mentions from GoBoy Records.
Their web address is:
It's well worth the search to get ahold of this one(at least for the
Jim Messina and the Jesters stuff). Good luck!

Thanks, but that's the place that is sold out. I've not found it anywhere
else. Guess I'm SOL eh?

I'm going to have to disagree, LSJ do it with none of
the energy of the Bobby Fuller version. The bassline
is different. THe lead is too choppy on the chorus
and the rythem guitar doesn't do the cool interplay
lead thing during the chorus. The rythem sounds too
thin. What happenned to the splashy reverb? LSJ
doesn't have it at all.
