Reissue '62 Reverb Radio

Gavin Ehringer (windanseabeachboy) - 02 Apr 2004 12:01:27

A long time back, I tried to solve the problem of radio signals coming
through my Fender Reverb unit and out my amp. There were a million
solutions offered, not one of them helped.
Here's the cause (at least on my unit): the stomp pedal acts as a radio
antenna. Eliminate the pedal, eliminate the signal.
Hope this helps anyone else who might have encountered the same
problem.

Bruce from the Cocktail Preachers has a fix for that. See the
Reverb_Mods_2.doc in the file area.

PS
I think folks should post info like this to the message area
(instead of the file area), more people will see it and it will be
available when searching the message archive. Plus not everyone has
MS-Word or wants to put up with macro virii.

Gavin -
my '66 Twin Reverb picks up what sounds like mexican and chinese radio
without any effects (and I'm in South Carolina - not many chinese, but a
shitload of mexicans) ... I saw Lonnie Mack play in a bar around '92 here,
and his Roland JC20 amp was talking all sorts of shit! He stopped the gig,
pulled up a chair and says "hey, might be martians, we might oughta listen!"

35 years ago, a buddy made a fuzztone. When it was done, he plugged in
his guitar, turned on the amp, said "Here we go!" and stepped on the switch.
Out of the amp came the opening licks of "Looking Out My Back Door". We
were rolling on the floor before Fogerty started singing.
Thanks for bringing back a special memory. :)
