RE: [SurfGuitar101] Surf Coasters USA Tour Update -- I'm IN!!!!

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 15 Mar 2004 18:26:47

Okay it's official -
The chance to see The Surf Coasters / Pollo Del Mar / The Hypnotic IV is too
great, plus I need a mini-vacation desparately. My wife and I will be at the
Brookdale and Sacramento shows. Ferenc: hope to meet you in person finally,
and it will be good to see Tsunami Tom and Trode again. Anyone else coming
out?
Any advice on how to get to Brookdale from SFO would be appreciated!
Looking forward to it!!
BN
PS Oh yeah, The Sub-Mersians! Didn't mean to slight them, I have a few of
their tracks on some comps and always wanted to meet Stretch after buying
some CD's from him (back when he had the store).

Brian,
Thanks for taking the plunge. I know you are traveling all the way
from Iowa, but I am sure it will be worth it! I hope you inspire some
other s to make the trip!
If you get lodging at the Brookdale, make sure you tell them you are
coming to see the bands.
And, of course we can meet! though I might be a little exhausted....
Thanks,

Hey Ferenc,
Well I can tell even at this great distance you are working your ass off to
pull this off. It's quite a coup to get them to tour here in the USA, and I
thank you in advance for that!
If you haven't heard the Surf Coasters, you simply must. Unfortunately they
don't seem to have a US distributor, so their stuff is hard to get and very
expensive. But seek out their best-of called "Fly Up!". Its a great
introduction.
I don't know if Pollo Del Mar takes requests, but I'd like to hear your
killer cover of "Jack the Ripper"...!

when you see the band you will know why I was inspired to book a tour
for them...

One way to get their CDs is to GO TO THE SHOWS!!! Also, I will try to
get a supply of titles or maybe try and hook them up with Dave at ZPTDUDA.
