Wondering if anyone with a knack for tabbing could locate P2p a piece
by Candian group "Les jaguars" who were big for a while in the mid-
'60s, then were resurrected in the mid-'90s.
Piece I am interested in is "mer morte". Any tab/help would be much
appreciated.
Thankful to all who may help me with this one.
Can't help you with the tab, but holy cow, Mer Morte is one amazing track.
The heavily echoed lead and rhythm guitars are incredible. Have you tried
searching for tab for "Dead Sea"? I think Mer Morte is a cover song.

Thanks, Mel. I'll try to locate a "Dead Sea" tab; however, as far as
I can tell (and remember), this was an original, although the group
may also have released it with an English-language title as they did
with some of their other numbers back then (Mer morte was originally
released in 1963 or 64).
Incidentally, they re-recorded this number in 1996. Only the lead-
guitarist remains of the original group.

And you were in Montreal at the time the group (Jaguars) was re-
created!!! Who knows what might have happened, had you all connected!

I've heard a Les Jaguars cover before (<cough> <cough> Mach IV) and am
intrigued. Where's a good place to start with them?
Thanks,

Les Jaguars did some really nice slow tracks and some wild rave-up twists,
all with gobs of echo. The key with Les Jaguars is to find the 60s
recordings. I've got a 1977 best of LP, and I know I've seen CD comps of
their material, though I can't remember where. There's a copy of this LP on
ebay right now. I'd stay away from their later recordings - merde.
The Mach IV plays Supersonic Twist and Guitare Jet, two of the Jaguars'
raveup twists, in our live sets.

HI!
I'm pleasantly surprised to see that a group from my early-teens has
a following here!
I just found this new CD of their original (early) numbers, available
on-line from Archambault Music in Montreal; link should work:
sku=001108527&type=1&lang_id= There are 5 Real Media 30-second
samples on this link.
Agree their early (and original) numbers have something better than
even their own remakes, a little "je ne sais quoi", probably the
straight-forward material and gear, everything is simple, yet tight.
By the way, Mel, I love what you do (and did). Keep surfing!
