I just wanted to from those of you who are not using a Fender amps.
Is so what amp are you using and with what kind of reverb?
Rick
I use a '66 Gibson Lancer w/ built in spring. The sound (and price)
was right. The loudest 35 watts you ever heard.

I don't own one, but i have played a vintage Ampeg reverberocket,
and the tremolo and echo(reverb) are really great! Definetely
different than the Fender sound.

I second the motion on Reverberockets. Tremolo, echo and 12" speaker. I used
to have a 66 Reverberocket II (with the far-out squarewave tremolo) and I
currently have a 62 Reverberocket. Both are great amps, with a more "hifi"
sound than the sweet Fenders. The 'rockets are about 20W, so don't expect much
clean headroom. The Gemini series have more power, maybe 35W, and some have 15"
speakers. Note that the late 60s/70s models have the same name, but are very
different amps.

I use a '73 Aims Dual Twelve, a 50-watt screamer built by former
Fender employees. It has built in tube reverb and vibrato, is all
hand-wired, has two 12" Emminence AlNiCo speakers, two channels. Very
"Fender-like" tone. Tons of clean headroom. Can be had relatively cheap.
I also use a '56 Premier Model 71 amp, a 12" with two 3" treble
speakers. It has nice Fender tweed tone to "dirty up" my sound ? I run
it mic'ed with the Aims to provide tonal contrast. Warm and fat ol'
tube sound with raunchy breakup.

Though my main amp is a Fender Vibrasonic ('60), I will also use an
all tube Garnet Revolution 2 (one 12", 1979, spring reverb) once in
a while. I recently recorded some guitar parts for our upcoming CD
(Mar 27) through a late 50s Kent, and an early 60s Dano amp. I used
the Fender Tank for reverb on these. There's nothing like the sound
you get out of those small, one volume, and maybe one tone amp. The
Kent had a great tremolo (off, or on...no tweaking allowed). I used
that on a couple of tunes too.
