Hi Guy's and Gal's
I'm having trouble with my fender reverb, and in an attemp
to troubleshoot, I need some comparisons.
Can someone please do a simple test for me and post the results?
My reverb unit, with the dwell ccw, the mix ccw and the tone
anywhere, sounds the same as being plugged straight into the amp.
Now this is the trouble, when I turn the mix pot cw (no change to
the other pots) the volume on the guitar drops, and the
high frequencies disappear.
Can someone try this on their reverb unit and tell me if they
have the same results?
Thank you very much.
GD
This does not happen with my reverb tank.

GD,
If the dwell is still all the way CCW when you turn the mix CW, and this
happens, then something is wrong. If there is some dwell dialed in, then
that's normal. The reverb unit drops the volume and the high frequencies -
the more dwell there is, the more radical the change.
This is why I play mine in a seperate loop, with an EQ pedal after it, with
just the level slider kicked up a little bit.
Hope this helps,
Ran

I have a '62 Reverb Reissue, brand new, and there is a slight
drop off of the volume when the Mixer is turned up maybe 10
percent of the overall volume is attenuated when the pot goes
past "6". The high frequencies are cut proportionally, but it's
neither drastic nor easily noticeable.
Sounds like your unit may be bad...I had one once that played
radio signals so strong, it was like someone plugged a tuner
into my amp. Had to lose that beast...my new one is much
quieter, but still gets some minor radio interference when the
footpedal is plugged in and the reverb is switched off.

The sound of losing High freq. when the "Mix" control is turned clockwise, is a
normal result of "loading" of {I think} the input. All mine act this way.
