Holy crap! Why would Link sell that thing? He recorded Rumble with it!!! He
is also selling his Yamaha too.

Hope this doesn't mean he's done with music.

What was he selling? His Premier Model 71? His Yamaha
Jazzmaster Clone? Say it isn't so! I can't believe he would even
have that amp after all these years. Give me more info! I couldn't
find the listing with the "Link" provided.
P.S. Shouldn't Link Wray get much more credit for Surf music? I
think his music, although not created in So. Cal, gives him
legitimate claim to the proto-surf instrumental label. And he was
heavy long before Dick Dale cranked up his Dual Showman and
discovered distortion.
Discussion?

Worse. The SG he used to record Rumble (among others). Do a search for
item number 2223405958.
Also, item #2223405959 is his Yamaha...
Phil
BTW,
Link Wray Is God.

I've always credited the Linkster just as much as
Dale. I was always hoping I'd get to see him in
action some day, but I guess not. The fact that these
items are up for sale is somewhat foreboding.

Let's try this one. Worked for me.

Wow, that's wild. Wonder why? The Yamaha gave me chills...it's
so personalized. Hope someone at the Rock Hall of Fame or the
Music Experience Museum or the Hard Rock buys them, so
people can see these.
Gavin
P.S. Wish I knew the providence of my ol' Premier 71 — maybe it
was Link's too! But, given the original speakers are still in it and
not pierced, it couldn't be. Sigh.

Somethings a little wrong here, He couldn't have recorded Rumble
with this guitar because the Gibson SG didn't exist in 1958, it came
out in the early sixties as a replacement for the then discontinued
Les Paul. In an old interview with Link Wray he claimed he used a
Les Paul with P90's on Rumble, which makes a lot more sense.
