Announcement: Surf Coasters Nor Cal Tour April 2004

Ferenc Dobronyi (ferencnd) - 04 Feb 2004 19:47:55

Dear Surf Music fans,
I am happy to officially announce that Japan's SURF COASTERS will be coming to
the US for a brief tour this April. You will notice that all of the shows are in
Northern California, and rightly wonder why. I tried to talk them into a longer
trip, and especially down to SoCal, but they just want to get their feet wet and
see how the American audience responds.
I encourage everyone who doesn't live in the Bay Area to try and make travel
arrangements and see this fantastic band. Think about it!!! A trip to San
Francisco, see the sights and check out Japan's #1 instrumental band on their
first USA dates. What an opportunity!
I want to thank all of the bands involved for helping to set up shows, and a
million thanks to Phil Dirt and KFJC.
Thanks,
Ferenc

I'm in negotiations with my wife right now :) and we are actually thinking
about flying out to catch at least one of these shows. We really like The
Hypnotic IV, so are leaning towards the Sacramento show. Please keep us
posted Ferenc if any more shows are added or dates change! Anyone else going
to be at any of these shows? Or is it too early to know yet?
Maybe I'll see some of you guys in person....sounds too good to pass up.
Are the 'Coasters conciously going to play some of surfy tunes, or are they
going to hit us with their wacky experimental side?

The Surf Coasters live stick to what they can do in a trio format, which is
quite a bit. It's all instrumantal, crunchy, raw surf. 2 shows have been added,
see the new tour schedule posted below
Yes Brian, this is too good to pass up!
