Brian, thanks for setting up a great group! I recognize many of the
names from the FDP (where I occasionally appear as surfnut) and
elsewhere - we are in good company!
My story is pretty much the same as Brian's: amateur basement
guitarist with loftier aspirations after meeting like minded
individuals (Brian - ever think about moving to Western MA? ;) )
I enjoy surf music in all of its forms, but have been listening
mostly to trad stuff lately (Lively Ones, Vara-Tones, Fathoms, and
Treblemakers have been getting lots of play in my house). My gear
consists of a Route 101 Solimar (strat type - nice guitar, actually)
with .10 rounds, a Dano Hodad (w/ trem) with .11 flats, a Fender RI
62 reverb tank (with NOS tubes - I'm eventually going to try the cap
change), and a Fender Cybertwin. My "love to have" list includes a
Jag or Jazzmaster, but I don't know which one yet . . .
Oh yeah, I don't surf (yet?), but I do skateboard, snowboard, and
wakeboard - just about every board sport except for the real thing.
