don't know how it is exactly in Belgium but the dutch (rather f-u'd)
system goes like this:
if the value inside the package is below 22 euros, it passes customs
untaxed (not because they don't bother, but because below 22 euros
its taxfree). the contents and value have to be on the package.
if it's above 22, you have to add shipping costs, and then the add
around 30% of the total on taxes.
anyway, esp with the ridiculously cheap dollar at the moment, you can
easily get two cd's for under 22 euros, and thus avoid taxes.
shipping costs tyopically being between 6 and 8 euros, it's worth it.
and, of course it's a good excuse to add a want-to-have-cd to a need-
to-have-order! just in case the wife needs to be convinced of the
rationality behind a rapidly expanding surf-cd collection ;-)
this is info is simply on the Dutch Customs site under a 'buying on
the internet'- link, very customerfriendly (haha). I guess Belgium
customs should have something similar. it's worth checking out.
