Hey there, Count Brockula:
If you wanna check out my band, the Eradicators, we're back at the
Cadillac Lounge on Friday, February 20. I'll post a reminder on this
site.
Atomic 7 (featuring Brian Connolly, guitar player for Shadowy Men) is
supposed to be playing there the next night, Sat., Feb 21, although
the Cadillac's website needs to be updated, cause they currently show
Atomic 7 on the 20th. Excellent instro guitar, bass & drums.
There's also the Sintones, although they've got vocals and tend more
towards rockabilly in my book-- good band tho, regardless.
So, yeah, there's some music happening here, besides the usual.
Do you play?

Yeah, I play (guitar, drums and bass) but I don't really play surf
these days. I've played in several surf bands over the years (first
one back in 1985) but it's not what I'm doing these days. I'm trying
to put together a band now that's more rock n roll kind of stuff but
I do plan on incorporating some surf into that (even Johnny Thunders
played surf!).I just want to play a mix of stuff I like without
catergorizing the band. I'm just having a hell of a time finding the
right people and I'm getting a bit discouraged. The last band I was
in here in town was a disaster and most of us ended up hating each
other (and we were friends before the band) and it turned me off of
playing for awhile. The drummer was a nazi and tried to run the band
as his own fiefdom. I can't handle that crap anymore so I'm being
really careful about who I play with.
I'll try to get down and check you guys out. I'm anxious to hear
some decent live music as things have been rather dry for me for the
last while.
Thunders' version of Pipeline is/was always a killer. Hard to believe
he's been gone 13 years.
Anyway, come & check out my band at the Cadillac Lounge on Feb 20 and
introduce yourself, hopefully Malcolm'll be around too, and we can
marvel at what a small world this internet thing really is.
