Thought some of you might be interested in this . . . I just updated
my "'63 Reissue Reverb Cap & Tube Mod Page" with a non-reverb tank
topic - fixing the floppy trem arms on AV Jags (and Jazzmasters,
too, I suppose). The new page is called "AV Jag Tremolo Arm Fix",
and can be accessed from the links on the left hand side of the main
page.
It was an easy fix using a beveled faucet washer - hopefully, it
will stand the test of time. For now, it holds the trem arm in
there really tight . . . uh, after my first failed attempt, of
course! Check it out - let me know what you think!

That's very cool Dick. Let us know if it "holds". My AV jag also needs
something like this...it drives me NUTS.
I've broken 2 collets now, and won't try for a third. The metal on those US
reissues is just too brittle!
