Hi everybody,
I'm new on this list, so here's my first reply. I just bought a
Spring King and I really like it. It's true; it's not a reissue
reverb, but for the price EUR 140 it's great. You can tweak the sound
to your liking: there's a tone knob, a dry/wet mix knob and a knob
for compensating a low/heavy input when you use a single coil or a
humbucker. You can change from a mild reverb to an over the top
reverb with lot's of feedback in the reverb. It's all yours!
I think you should buy it, if surf is not your main style. Then it's
a great add on to your sound chain.
I play rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, surf, bluesrock, etc.
I only use my spring king for surf. I've got a Fender Stratocaster
and play through a Marshall DSL 401-valve amp. And with one kick on
my spring king it is possible to change from a dry mean Marshall
sound to a Reverb Wet Fender sound. That's the cool part of the
Spring King!
Greetingzzzz,
Erik
