I am fairly new to the 3rd wave bans, only being attentive for about 18
months now. Last month I picked up Slacktone, live in Prague and was
pleasantly surprized at the rawenergy and skill these guys demonstrated.
Friday, I picked up that Blue Sparkle disk and was completely floored at the
capacity of these guys to shred as angrily as instruments will allow them.
The thing that amazed me the most was the capacity of their song writing to
get melodic, sensetive and down right touchy feely with me. This guitar
work actually captured moods that I remember feeling the first time hearing
the Beach boys harmonize familiar beach scenes I had experienced in my
youth.
I'm sure Dave and the boys don't need a late review from someone like me,
but my hat is off to the greatest Surf recording I have heard!
Now, somebody tell me, can the 3rd wave offer anything comparibly to
Slacktone?
