As if having Dick Dale and Los Straitjackets within 2 weeks of each
other in SF weren't enough, in less than a week any and all in the
Bay Area can treat themselves to another night of great surf at The
Blank Club in San Jose. This coming Tuesday (Oct. 7th) The Lava Rats
will be surfing southward to join up with our pals Drifting Sand and
the Sub-Mersians for a night of Reverb-drenched mayhem.
The Sub-Mersians will kick off the night at 9:30, and I personally
advise anyone who hasn't seen them in the last 4-6 months to come
out. We've played a lot with them recently, and we can honestly say
that they keep getting better every time we see them.
Drifting Sand will be hitting number two, breaking up the instro with
a lively dash of inspired surfer rock. Surfer Spud and the whole
crew will really blow you away with their custom blend of tunes.
It's a little vocal, a little instro, and all Rock'n'Roll!!
Finally, the night owls will be entertained by none other than The
Lava Rats. We've been cooped up in the basement working on the post
for our new CD, so we've been salivating to see a stage again. Those
who stay up will NOT be disappointed. You'll hear a few choice tunes
from the upcoming release, plus some of the old goodies and a handful
of choice covers. Perhaps the better show will be how the three of
us function in work or school the following morning after driving
back up to the city after our set.
