hi can anytell me about this there is one im looking at online
You are looking at a sweet old reverb unit made by Darius. It is a
spring reverb unit in good condition. I'd say its from the 70's.
She's solid state and has an AC cord running right out the front of
it, no batteries here.
From left to right, the knobs read BALANCE, TONE, DEPTH. There are 2
inputs, 1 output and an input for an external footswitch. This unit
can go from a mellow/subtle reverb to all out dripping saturation
with no feedback. On occasion the TONE knob has made a popping noise,
but it doesn't do it regularly and I bet a little cleaning solution
would take care of it immediately.
thats what it says does anyone no anything about this
You might want to hold off on the solid state...I have had good luck
with a Premier Reverb tank, an all-tube tank made from about 1960 to
about 1970. These sell for $200 up on eBay, or half the price of a
reissue Fender and 1/3 or even 1/4 the price of a vintage Fender
Reverb tank.
P.S. The rest of your rig sounds fine...clean tube tone, on-board
reverb and a strat should nail the surf sound. A tube reverb tank adds
more "wetness" to your sound and is a worthwhile addition. You may
find a pedal works well too.
I am big on Weber speakers on the later Fender Hot Rod amps...some
people like them, others don't. The California series of speakers
worked well on my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Check 'em out at Weber VST.
