It's time for another sermon in instro madness and what a busy month it
will be. The Cocktail Preachers play the Steel Wheels Jamboree auto
show at Portage High School in Indiana, Saturday August 9th & Sunday
August 10th. It's a nitro burning double bill as the Cocktail Preachers
will be accompanied by our Indiana surf & drag cohorts The Heavies.
This is our first auto show so bring your cameras and get ready for the
amazing photo opportunity. Enjoy the tunes while you peruse the classic
cars. This is a split bill and we will be playing two sets. Performance
time is between 1 and 5PM both days.
The buzz is growing and the time is fast approaching. Saturday August
23rd the Cocktail Preachers will be part of Exotica 2003-The Chciago
Tiki Tour. Exotica 2003 is a tiki weekender, all events tiki related,
capped off by a Mid-West Surf show at Phyllis Musical Inn. This show
will include the Troubadours, a tribute theShadows from Indy, The
Cocktail Preachers, and a rare Chicago appearance by Estres recording
artists, The Volcanos from Detriot. This tiki weekender will feature a
tiki bar crawl, as well as, a Luau, tiki bowling and art exhibits. This
event is one show to definitely not miss. Show starts at 10:00 and
doors open at 9:00. Check the Exotica 2003 web site for a listing of
complete events.
Also, August 15th at Phyllis' Musical Inn (the surf Mecca in Chicago),
will have New England's own The Crimson Ghosts doing their surf tribute
to The Misfits. Opening the show will be Death Valley Naked featuring
the music of DEADBOLT and Chicago's own Plan 9 From Outer Space
will headline this event.
