there's a nasty click on the vibrato footswitch on my 65 twin reverb reissue

Rankin General (rankingeneral) - 15 Jul 2003 11:18:03

Does anybody have a quick fix. I've opened the bottom
of the switch and it's not noticably dirty. does it
need to be replaced? any suggestions much appreciated.

interchange the footswitch reverb and vibrato rca plug. I mean, just plug
the reverb into vibrato and vice versa and use the reverb switch as vibrato
switch. Hear if you still have the nasty click. If yes it is not the switch.
Hope I made myself clear.

Have you tried "electric contact spray cleaner"?
(Radio Shack @ $5.00 a can) ...the dirt and crap may be
inside the button/switch itself.
...otherwise you may need to try replacing the
button/switch itself...again Radio Shack...try to find a
"Switchcraft" on/off button...
I would try the "contact cleaner" first...if it's not that,
then I'd get the amp benched by a tech, or try a different
pedal, before I started replacing stuff...process of
elimination to determine if it's the pedal or the amp...
good luck,

I've got the reissue which they made with 1/4" instead of RCA.
Thanks though
