Since everyone seemed keen on show notices --- here's the skinny on
the Lava Rats' next event:
Greetings one and all! Since I know everyone up here in surprisingly
sunny NorCal has been on the edge of their seats, I am pleased to
announce the official lineup for July 13th's edition of Surfin'
Sunday at the Hotel Utah here in SF. So with no further ado, here
goes:
Opening up will be a new band on the scene from right here in the
city by the bay called "Outer Aves". They are a local trio of
surfers and beach bums who bring an interesting "indie" take to the
reverb we all know and love so dear.
Up next, fresh off their SoCal tour and busy 4th of July weekend is
Aptos' own Sub-Mersians. Always a class act, it's a pleasure that
they could make it out for this month's installment. Maybe if I'm
lucky, Jessica will let me play her guitar too.
Headlining will be my favorite band, The Lava Rats. We've been
playing a whoooole lot recently in addition to starting the recording
of our upcoming CD, tentatively titled "Surfing the Magma", so it's
not much of a stretch to say we're very nearly at the top of our game
at the moment. We'll be previewing much of the material from the new
CD, including one or two songs that have yet to be heard by any ears
other than band members and close neighbors to our rehearsal space.
As always, The Hotel Utah will also feature a kitchen full of
deeeelicious food, plenty of free-flowing libations, and a warm
atmosphere matched by few venues around the bay.
