Vertigo

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 27 Jun 2003 13:07:29

Hey guys,
Monday, I came down with vertigo, which I've never had before, and wouldn't
wish on anyone. Basically I have no sense of balance or equilibrium, the
room spins, and I spent a lot of time puking (always a fun time...eh?). Well
I somehow made it to the doctor and he gave me some valium and anti-nausea
stuff. So I'm slowly getting better. At least the puking has stopped. There
are a dozen causes for vertigo, the most likely is a viral inner ear
infection. All you can do is let it run its course. I just want to thank
Ferenc and the bands who made them for aiding in my recovery (or at least
spirits): Meshugga Beach Party (loads of fun, very inventive, I still laugh
out loud at the album cover), Insect Surfers new one (WOW....no they aren't
surfy but very cool instro rock with dueling leads like the Volcanos),
Guitar Ace (Aces in my book), and the Celebration of Life CD (very cool
...its cool hearing Nebulas tunes and to appreciate how much Dano's rhythm
adds plus the Surf Kings are great). Ivan, I've also been watching your tape
and will get to the Bruce D stuff... I promise. Anyway, this is the first
time I've felt well enough to check email so I apologize if I haven't been
getting back to anyone.
And Ferenc, if it makes you feel any better, I for one have no interest in
the size of your unit.
Also, I'm trying to sell my amp on Ebay and I can't believe how many idiotic
questions I get (don't they read the ad?) (BTW, thanks Kevin for the token
opening bid!!) Here is one example:

a plane to go see the Indy show. Yikes.
Your surf lovin' sea-sick pal,

Tell me that you NEVER ingest NutraSweet/aspartame.

Hey Brian!
wow, man, vertigo! I think that happens after being caught in
a 'crusher' one too many times - maybe you've just been listening to
too much surf music and started internalizing all those musical
representations of powerful waves? All kidding aside, I'm sorry to
hear you've been going through this. I hope you're fully recovered
very soon. Definitely by July 12th! Hang in there, buddy...

Thanks, Ivan. Shortly before I came down with this I made a remark about the
Volcano's "Whirlpool" song on Reverborama. Boy did that come back to haunt
me. I am better now, I just shuffle around like Ozzy Osbourne. And maybe
take valium like he does too :)
At least I sold my amp. I got the reserve price exactly ($400). I was hoping
to get a bit more than that, but I'm not totally unhappy. However the guy
who won it has 0 feedback and his email address is something like. Ai-yi-yi. We'll see what happens. Maybe is a fine upstanding citizen like his email
suggests.
Best,
BN
