what effects are good to use and what exact brands im deifinlty
getting fender tank this summer but for my b day whats good i was
thinking electro harmonix worm what effetcs are good for surf
Well I don't think you NEED too many effects to get the surf thing down.
There weren't too many available in 1962. Of course if you are talking the
Mermen that is another matter.
The basic stuff is guitar-reverb-amp. Tremolo is nice. If you want to detour
into the Shadows, then echo/delay is cool. I've heard a lot of surf bands
use fuzz pedals too for that Davie Allen and the Arrows sound
(Bomboras/Treblemakers come to mind).
Listening to the Shadows makes me want to get a delay effect. Does anyone
have any suggestions besides a tape unit?
Thanks,
BN

A cool digital delay is always fun...sort of sounds like
U2s guitar dude The Edge...but, I have hooked up my digital
delay to my Fender Reverb Unit and it sounds sweet (if you
don't overdo it)

Hi DP,
Can you give me some directions on the setting on youtr digital delay?
I got also a unit coupled on my Farfisa reverb tank, but I'm still not
really satisfied with the settings of the Delay.
I asume Guitar-Delay-Reverb-Amp?
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Jerry:
I set up Guitar-delay-reverb-amp...
and I set for a very short delay time. I don't know how
many milliseconds...but something with only 1 or 2
repetitions occuring rather close together. Also,
I mix 50-50 effect/dry signal...I don't run 100% effect
signal.
The sound you get will depend on your echo/delay
unit...you'll have to experiment in order to find a tone
you like.
good luck
:) dp
