What are your impressions of this? Guitar Player had a cover story
on Ry Cooder talking about this recording, and words like 'surf'
and 'Duane Eddy' were thrown about quite a bit in the description of
it. It sounded quite intriguing.
thanks, Ivan

my impressions - love the latin rhythms, love the ambience of the
recording - not close miked but very airey (is that a word?), there's
some cool photos of the studio (read Ry's comments about the studio in
Guitar Player) - Ry puts a great vibe on all the stuff he does (I
think one of the best CD's ever made is "Little Village")- guitar-wise
the lead guy has a great sense of melody, Ry provides the whammy fills
- my band will be covering a couple tunes from this CD
