Great Article on Surf Bass in Vintage Guitar...

Gavin Ehringer (windanseabeachboy) - 05 Jun 2003 01:34:45

I found this great reprint of an article on surf bass on the Vintage
Guitar website. It was written in 1997 by the writer Stuart Komen, and
reprinted recently on the site.
I don't know how to post active html links, but here's the url:
www.vguitar.com/brands/details.asp?ID=83
Well worth checking out...he talks about the crucial role surf music
played in popularizing the Fender electric bass and does a good job
explaining how surf bass playing differed markedly from the style of
upright bass playing that characterized early Rock'n'Roll.
A good chance to give your band's bass player props!
Good readin',
Gavin
