Is there any difference in sound between the D130/D140 & the E130/E140
15" speakers?
Is seems that prices for the "D" series are out of this world. ($400
for a pair that need to be re-coned?!?!) and it seems the "E"'s are a
little bit cheaper. Has anyone used the "E" series for surf?
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil
here's what I can tell you about JBL's -
the model after the D series was the K series. the E's came later.
we A-B'd a D120 and a K120 and could not hear any difference. they
are both AlNiCo. I think you will find the K's are less expensive
than the D's. the D's are valuable to collectors. I have not heard
any E's - you might post on the webervst site or Ampage forums and see
what kind of response you get.
I have a 60's (low style) Bandmaster cab with one K120 and one Electro
Voice EVM12. This cab is outstanding for surf. really clean and
thick.

Thanks Bob.
I'll look at the K's and see what's up. I'm not really into the whole collector
aspect of it. I just want THAT sound.
