Is Treblemaker Zak still on this list? If so, what are some cool
indie record stores to check out in Montreal? Anyone know of the
same in Ottawa?

The only real cool indie record store to buy Surf, Garage,
Rockabilly, and Punk in Ottawa is Birdman Sound located at 593 Bank
Street. I know the owner and I been buying all my stuff there for 6
years.
Record Runner on Rideau Street is half mainstream, half indie but
you really gotta dig to find any Surf music. CD Warehouse which has
2 locations in Ottawa is pretty much the same but has some real gems
everytime I went, if you don't mind spending a bit of time diggin'.

Don't know if they are still around, but the record stores I used to visit
in Montreal were Primitive on St. Laurent, and Stomp on Mount Royal.

He's still on the member list, but he doesn't receive this list via
email (web only). The last time I had an email exchange with him he
said he doesn't get on the net much.
