I bought a Premier T-100 Rhythm amp after a buyer on eBay defaulted on
the seller. It looks beat, but sounded great on the phone (it hasn't
arrived yet). The speakers are two Jensen P12P with alnico V mags,
both original and date-coded 1960! No reverb, no tremelo, just bass,
treble and volume controls and get this - inputs for guitar, bass,
accordion, and microphone! Yep, the whole polka band can play through
it at the same time!
It has a retro look that even the tweed Fenders can't match. It's the
same company (Multivox) and brand of the amp in the photo in The Blue
Stingrays CD, only mine's bigger and doesn't have the two small treble
speakers.
I can't wait to play through it (after my electronics tech friend goes
through the entire thing and replaces the 2-prong cord). Anyway, I'll
give a complete report on the sound.
Rumor has it Link Ray played through a Premier amp with the Premier
Outboard Reverb Tank, then switched to Fender when Leo built him an
amp with reverb inside. Had it been the other way around, we might all
be playing through Premiers, and I'd be telling you about my cool (but
obscure) vintage Fender Twin!
Check out photos in "My Rig."
Adios for now!
Whoa! I think you scored really big, Gavin!
I've heard nothing but good stuff about those amps, from the cool
non-Fender tweed retro vibe to the awesome tone they produce! At
one point, I think Zak Izbinsky (from the late Treblemakers, one of
my favorite bands) got his hands on a Premier T-100 (1 x 12) - he
just raved about it! I'm sure that the Twin-12 follows suite.
Nice job - enjoy the amp and let us know how it sounds!

Cool! Yes, let us know how it sounds.
