Re: Denvermen and Avengers VI

Dana and Roberta Vincent (dana_l_vincent) - 21 Jan 2002 21:49:07

Brian, I think Jeff was referencing the "Let's Go Surfside" CD, with twelve
Denvermen tracks (Surf City Stomp, On The Beach, Mystery Wave, Surfside
Romance, Ho-Dad, Surfers Cha-Cha, Back Rip, Let's Go Surfin', Spanish Sands,
Quiet Beach, Surf Patrol, and Surfer's Blues) and ten Avenger VI tunes
(Heartbeat, Downtown, Mr. Lucky, None But The Brave, Good Humor Stomp,
Slaughter on 10th Avenue, Pipeline, Summer Place (!), Peter Gunn, and Time
Bomb). According to the insert material, the Avenger VI were also later
known as the Californians (...hmmm...!!!) and the Good Guys. Hope some of
this helps.
Best regards, Dana Vincent

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the advice. Was Rick Bastrup in the Avengers VI? I'll have to get
my copy of Bob Dalley's book out again.
I didn't get that last part:

Is there another release with the Avengers VI stuff on it?
I have always wanted to hear those guys...I have the Man or Astro-Man? cover
of "Time Bomb" and the Bomboras version. A cool song and both bands cover it
very differently. Just wanted to hear the originals.
