You've heard the rumors, the chatter, and the promo from the other
bands, so now it's time for the showdown. Not since the Civil War
have North and South clashed, and resulted in such mayhem. Hitting
the 5 and heading North at break-neck speeds are CHUM and The
Detonators. Both bands will be hopping into Billy Blast-Off's Bago,
piloted by none other than superfan BigTikiDude, and touching down
first in "The Pit" at KFJC for a performance on Phil Dirt's show on
Saturday night. Then Sunday is the day it all hits the fans -- yours
truly, The Lava Rats, will be hopping in the fracas for a powerhouse
three-band bill, starting around 3 o'clock. The Detonators will be
kicking things off mixing their great blend of modern surf with their
constant flow of insults directed CHUM's way. That will be followed
by the hometown favorites, The Lava Rats. We've been in seculsion in
our top-secret rehearsal chamber (Bill's Garage), and will be peeking
our heads out in the daylight to hit you with a handful of brand-
spanking-new songs from the upcoming CD. So make sure to get your
sneak preview before we once again retreat to the shadows of the
studio, and also get your first glimpse of Bill's new heart-stopping
Jazzmaster! Finishing up the bill will be CHUM, who (sources inform
me) have actually been practicing -- twice this week!! So expect
them to officially hate each other by the time they arrive in SF.
Fighting or not, I personally gaurantee that they will tear it up for
as long as they maintain some state of near-sobriety.
Make sure not to miss this one, the Utah will be reverberating long
after the show is over.
