Re: [SurfGuitar101] Silvertone

J.Erbetta (pacolospi) - 16 Apr 2003 08:13:55

I really love my Silvertone. I had luck to found this one here in Brazil
back in 98' and I paid about US$170.00 with the amp in case with everything
original.
I used this guitar a lot in live situations but now I keep it for recordind
sessions. This one is from 63' and has no truss rod. My luthier have to
shape de neck every time (well, it's great for bottleneck too...)
It has that unique sound. The mix between lipsticks and the cheap wood is
very clean and intersting.
The amp in case is the best tremolo I have. Well, I have one Dual Showman
too... Mmm... The Showman ins better... :)
I use the amp in case a lot in sessions too, specially with Gretsch guitars.
Well, if you like to hear some stff recorded with this Silvertone:
And I'll spot another cheap and twang guitar that I have: Hofner 165:
I love that guitar too and has this incredible neck for flying really fast.
Check the guitar (and me) in action:
Well, you guys can see my gear page at:
I'm really into guitars and it's quite difficult too find wath I really want
here in Brazil but I'm keep trying. And I have this amazing luthier working
for me, Marcio Zaganin.
Cheers
