For those of you who don't know:
The Nebulas: One of the brightest bands on the surf scene today. A killer,
rampaging, take no prisoners surf assault unit. Rhino Chaser has got to be
one of the meanest, baddest, surf songs ever.
Destination: Earth!: What happens when anime fans meet and form a hard
hitting rock band with surf/spy/sci-fi roots.
The Troubadours: Ivan Pongracic of The Space Cossacks and his father Ivan
Sr. lead this incredibly talented Shadows tribute band. Want to hear such
gems as Apache, The Savage, and Man of Mystery done justice???!!!
The inside scoop: For the last couple of years The Troubadours have played
an Indy show with Destination: Earth! and another instro/surf band. I was
extremely fortunate to have been there last year and got to see these two
bands along with Detroit's The Volcanos. I can tell you first hand it was an
amazing show. The Troubadours competently and easily pull off the most
spectacular Shadows songs, while D:E! just plain rawks hard in a geeky but
lovable way. And the Volcanos are literally volcanoes of hyped-up trad
sounding surf. I can't believe its been almost a year, and now we have this
great lineup on the horizon. It is too bad that The Volcanos can't make it,
but wow...the freakin' Nebulas!!! I live two states over, and I will do my
damndest to be there again this year. And you should too! Hop on a plane,
bus, moped, skateboard, whatever you got to do, be there.
Three extremely talented bands that cover a spectrum of styles in the instro
genre! How can you say no? How can you go wrong?

And a special plea to other Midwest lamers like myself who hang on every
word in the reviews that come from the seemingly daily surf shows in So.
Cal: you've got to show up for this!

Even more incentive to come: I don't know if I'm authorized to say this, but
sources in the know can neither confirm nor deny that the date of the show
is also Nebula's drummer TooFastJim's birthday...so please show up and wish
him a Happy Birthday!
