What is a decent first amp to buy without spending $$$$$$$

Joe Barnes (iamtheoriginaltoblave) - 29 Mar 2003 23:15:19

I checked out the archives and Dano from the Nebulas once mentioned a VOX
Cambridge 30. What else is out there for an absolute beginner that still has
a surfy reverb? What about a Fender Sidekick?
I'd love to get a Fender RI, but I wont be ready to spring that on my SO
until I get proficient enough to justify the cost.

I have the Fender Bullet 15 DSP and consider it to be excellent value. Has 3
reverbs: small room, large hall, and "Fender Spring Reverb". That last is my
fave. Nice features, great price. It's page at Fender is:

Hey Joe, don't let that stop you! I will probably win this years award for
the highest "cool gear" to "playing ability" ratio. I think its about a
million to one right now. I bought a Dual Showman amp & cabinet. It's still
in the shop but I understand its making a full recovery.
