1) A couple of people mentioned the Hodads. Are the lipstick pickups on these
single coil or are they wired in pairs as humbuckers?
2) A while back, someone on eBay was selling a "kit" to add tremelo to 56-U2s.
I've been kicking myself for not getting it then. Anyone ever hear of anything
like that?

Hey Marty!
The Hodad has two pairs of lipsticks wired like humbuckers, but you can
split the coils and get a single coil sound. The tone pots have pull
switchs that let you split the coils (for the single coil sound) and/or run
the pups out-of-phase. With the push-pull pots and the 3-position pickup
selector, you can get 12 different variations! They all sound pretty cool,
but I like the coil tap settings the best (love those single coils!).

I'v got a Danelectro Hodad... The pickups are wired as
humbuckers.
It seems that the pickups have variable settings:
Neck: out of phase, coiltap or both (or neither)
Bridge: out of phase, coiltap or both (or neither)
both pickups: out of phase, coiltap or both (or neither)
I may be wrong, but this is the way the settings sound to
me...
It might be cool to add a 5th lipstick single coil...I
wonder if anyone has attempted any Frankenstein mods on
their Dano yet?
