Congratulations Bill!!! I love Sherwood Green Metallic!
If it was me, I would try 11 flats on the JM. I've got 12 flats on my Strat
and its a bit much at times. But I love 12's on the Jag.
Why don't you come over and we can try to get my Showman running and I'll
check out your JM! Ha!
You know, getting together would be fun. Do we have enough people in this
list to try and get together somewhere? Or should we have local gatherings?
Or should we all pick a Slacktone show this coming summer and try to meet
there???
Maybe the Nebulas could play for us?

Bill:
Imho, the JM is great with 11 Flats...I really like them on mine (and it happens
to be Sherwood green too ;o)..nice
choice Bill!
I've tried every sort of combination imaginable on mine and found these to be
optimal...
I like them on my '63 Jag too..but I think this guitar would like to see 12s on
it even better!
Best regards,
Mike

I know the feeling! Maybe I should set up one of those polls to see where
everyone lives?

Dick Messick (flatwound01) - 28 Feb 2003 19:50:11

Congrats on the JM, Bill! I'd probably use 11's, as Brian suggests. I've
got 11's on my Jag, but soon hope to have the time to change 'em to 12's -
so, I guess I would go with 11 flats on a JM.
A get together is a cool idea, Brian. I could hitch a ride with the
Nebulas, since we're in the same state - aw, heck! I'll offer to *drive* the
Nebulas (assuming my wife let's me "borrow" her van) :) Count me in . . .
-Dick

Bill Bergstrom (surfbandbill) - 01 Mar 2003 03:48:21

I'm all about hooking up and doing a little surf guitar talking...
One other option, if geography proves to be an issue, is to maybe do
a listing of instant messenger screen names. I know I'm on AIM, as
I'm sure others (either of AIM or AOL) are. This way, we'd at least
have a chance to discuss in real time, instead of waiting for e-mails
to be checked.
Just a thought.
Also, as far as pedals go, I use all Dano -- the Daddy-O overdrive
(beautifully warm), the Dan-Echo (which I like as long as it doesn't
hiss), and the Cool Cat Chorus to simulate a Leslie-style sound.

Looks like 11 flatwounds for both the Jag and the JM... while I'm
sure the Jag could take 12s without a problem, I'm just a little
hesitant. It wasn't that long ago I was using 9s on it. Don't want
to get too drastic.
Just also wanted to say thanks to everyone for the warm wishes on the
JM and all the tips!

Hey! Just set a date and time and use our chat feature! Nobody uses the chat
and I have no idea why.
