Hey guys..I don't know if this is something you would be interested in
messing with, but I started a Jaguar Jazzmaster message board. I would like
to have a couple of moderators to watch stuff and even to add some sections
to the site to accomodate the needs of everyone.
I am not trying to be a new FDP or anything..I just think it would be cool to
have something that doesn't require the use of email, and we can search into
the previous posts on.
If anyone wants the job of moderator, first be sure you will be on enough
(once a day or so) then sign yourself up and email me your user name. I will
choose two or three people anyway.
No rules really to speak of. I just ask we by cool to each other and only
spread the word to others like us. I wont advertise the site or anything this
way we can keep the troll factor to a minimum. I would be happy to see you
all there!

??? But email lists are WAY better than web boards. When I started on this
list, I got the digests. On web boards you don't get a choice; you just have
to click and scroll for every couple of lines. What a pain!!
I went there, read all the messages and decided it was just as annoying as
every other web board and that I wouldn't go back (or if I do, it will only
be to see the lovely photo <g>).
PLUS you can search the previous posts of _this_ list at its yahoo home page
and the search works very well.
PLUS some list users on the other side of the Atlantic may have metered
local dialing while they're online. IOW, the longer they're on, the more
they pay the phone company. Collecting all the mail at once is WAY more
economical than clicking and scrolling in web pages.
So I'm having trouble seeing the rationale. For those who think it's fine
and like it, hey, more power to ya.

Hmmmmm...I agree with MalcomO, though I see the need for both boards and lists.
Lists are a little less real time, but I think you get more thoughtful, personal
responses. Also, you are more likely TO GET a response from your list buddies.
Boards are more real time, and a little easier to do research with due to the
availability of topic catagories....and I do think the FDP is exceptionally good
for this. Boards encourage more 'junk' responses though, imho.

bet you find whatever you're looking for. I've refound stuff I'd forgotten
about on my Dead list.

Hey whatever you want to do. I personally get discouraged finding and weeding
through 50+ emails when I log on. However, I understand that we all have
different preferances. The board is there for anyone who wants to use it.
