How to post a link that doesn't break

unlunf - 19 Feb 2006 15:29:42

Gang,
More than a few of us read the Group discussions using our
browsers instead of getting each message via our private
email accounts. I can't speak to what happens to links
within any particular email client, but I do know that in
a browser, Yahoo will 'break' longer links as it wraps them
around from one line to the next. That makes for a lot
of swearing, right? <g>
When posting long links, you can make life easier for the
reader by merely surrounding said link with the less-than
and greater-than signs. Really, it's that simple! <g>
No more need to jump to tinyurl dot com, enter a long URL,
then copy the resultant string back to your message. The
added benefit is that the reader can see where he's about
to be taken by the link - tinyurl doesn't do that.
Enjoy.
