Subject: Alive and well

As a drummer I don't have a lot to say about guitar stuff but I had an
experience yesterday I thought I would share. I am in an active surf
band here in Colorado and had the great fortune to speak at length
with Rich Fifield, the former lead player of the Astronauts. He is not
really up on the surf scene so I did my best to hip him to some of my
favorites such as Satan's Pilgrims, the surf guitar 101 group and to
let him know how revered the Astronauts are in some circles. He still
is a great player and favors the blues. He is one of the nicest, down
to earth guys I have ever had the pleasure to know. A very funny guy
with some great stories. And then to top it off, he offered to sit in
sometime with us at some "special" gig. I have died and gone to
heaven. Anyway, this probably means nothing to anybody but me but just
thought I would pass along that one of the (in my opinion anyway)
great surf legends is alive and well.

I would really make that "sit-in" session happen,
As soon as you can! It could lead to a regular thing,
And that would be awesome...
