say, rich, that cd-r mentioned on your site live in europe, I saw on
Reverbcentral that it's recorded in Tilburg, my hometown... was that
years ago (when I was present) or am I so stupid that I missed another
balboas tour?
btw, do you still play? any chance of another euro-tour? I know I had
tons of fun when I saw you way back then.

That was the only time we played Tilburg, which was a riot! Europe is
great fun for those who haven't made the trek. The best surf fans I
have ever met lived in Belgium and Holland. No knock on the states,
but we have so many choices for music we are jaded. Belgium had the
most fresh ass I have ever seen, god damn beautiful women.
I'd love to get the Balboas back to europe. I somehow doubt Gert
would have us back though, and once we were with gert we got
blacklisted by a few other promoters. There did seem to be some turf
politics with a few promotors that got in the way of our return.
we were soooooooooo naughty...
Hard to say, but it might be possible to tack a few Defiant Ones shows
onto the end of a Slacktone tour someday as well. There were like
10,000 belgian dudes in cowboy hats that would donate their faces to
french chicks to get into Cait's pants...

I for one welcome Rich to SG101. I love the Balboas and look forward
to the Defiant Ones. I remember very fondly the off the wall posts to
Cowabunga and Reverborama in prior years that emanated from the
Balboas camp.
There was this big Rapiers fan (Greg ???) that used to post these
meticulously crafted newsletters about the Rapiers to Cow and
Reverborama. These things contained interviews, quotes, stories, etc
about the Rapiers. I suggested at the time that someone should do the
same thing for The Balboas...oh the stories we would hear...Mark
actually emailed me and told me he was considering it, but alas it
never materialized.
I'm hoping Jerry just didn't know about The Balboas past history and
perhaps there was the language barrier involved in there too.
The next time you host a wild party and want to bust crap up, put on a
Balboas record. Dig!
