Farmland while traveling...to a surf gig.

Kim Sweeney (swamikim) - 01 Feb 2006 18:37:53

Aloha Y'all,
I'll take a stab at this one.
I believe one difference in the way farmland "looks"
In California -vs- The Midwest
In the Midwest it is farmland as far as the eye can see.
Bob Hope said of the place,
"There is nothing for miles and miles,
Except for miles and miles" (That's a joke, son.)
In the San Joaquin Valley, there are huge mountain ranges
Beyond the farmland, to your left and to your right.
I believe that may have been what he was reefering to.

If I may chime in...
In addition to the farm land of the central California, I-5 is also flanked by
the beautiful concrete California Aquaduct... which we gratefully thank our No.
Cal. friends for... But the real treat of the I-5 drive is the miles of cattle
farms. They will clean your sinuses out and the fragrance will linger for
hours!!!
