Namn The Surf!

scanman805 - 25 Jan 2006 00:46:59

So far I've seen news broadcasts, I've seen email ads, I've seen public flyers,
and I've heard all this buzz about these bullshit gadgets that can produce
"Counterfit" music as I call it, but I have yet to hear about the raw, reverb,
balls to the wall, keepin' it real, surf music. Why can't these digital techno
gadget money makin' wannabe's get a clue? Personally, I could give a shit how
many pedals can make me sound like Joe Satriani or his mother. Give me a
friggin' break.............
B-B-O
P.S. Let me know when there's a Fender Fest. in town. Then maybe, just maybe,
I'll show up..........;D

Agree with you there, our band does not use any of those gadgets,
fender guitar to a fender amp, routed somewhere in there through a
fender tank reverb. Nothing to contaminate the sound. Gadgets are for
re-producing sound, we would rather produce the sound. Guitar players,
let your fingers do the walking instead of your feet (he,he) How's it
going Billy, first beer is on me next time I see you.

Your right Freddie. I need to quit poppin' amphetamines with my Red Bull
chasers..........
You see, the real truth is. I didn't get any passes to the Namn Show, so that
makes me extremely jealous, and all I can do is make fun of everybody who went.
tee-hee, snicker, snicker.
The funny thing is, just the other day I whipped out my Digi-tech Rp-7 guitar
pedal, and when nobody was lookin', I plugged my guitar in and I went off for
about two hours straight. But, Shhhhhhhh..........Don't tell anybody. ;D
Billy
P.S. Thanks for the airplay dude!!

I know they're not strictly surf bands, but the Mermen
and Pollo del Mar (among others) sound absolutely
incredible to me with their gazillion and one gadgets.
I love the trad sound, but I dig the more progressive
sound in a big way, too. If you know what you're doing,
and play with passion, skill and taste, the gadgets won't
obscure your talent.
