I'm being shipped out to the San Francisco Bay Area for work next week
(1/22-1/28.) I'm going to be in Emeryville (my hotel is right near the Bay
Bridge.) Is there anything going on that week that I shouldn't miss?
I'm also tempted to take a trip up to Berkley so I can see Subway Guitars in
person. Are there any other places with interesting gear I should visit?
Thanks,
Z

I haven't been to Subway in years, but they always did
have an amazing stock. Also in Berkeley- Amoeba Music,
but the big Amoeba is on Haight Street in SF. Haight
Street is always worth seeing if you haven't been
there before. No shows that I know of, although the
Shitones at The Park chalet in SF on Thursday is
always a lot of fun.
Thanks,

If you can get down South a bit, Guitar Showcase
in San Jose @ Bascom & Camden has an absolutely
amazing collection of vintage instruments. It's
like a museum. Guitar showcase is about 50 or 60
miles straight down 880. No surf that I know of
other than The Shitones (Mermen offshoot) @ the
Beach Chalet on Thursday night, like Ferenc said.
