ReSRV was.....: expanding SURF MUSIC to newer audiences

Jeff (bigtikidude) - 16 Jan 2006 23:50:04

Marty, all,
I'm not into drugs and not promoting drugs here, but...
I'd like to see(if there is anything ou there) a performance of his
texas bar days. Where he was jacked out of his mind on Coke, and
played for like 8 hours. So long that his blisters were falling off,
and then had to super glue the blisters back on to continue.
It may have been awful, but it also my have been amazing.

that I think of it, didn't the brothers Vaughan do it live somewhere,
both sharing a double neck guitar ?

although that may have been because the post show was the one with BB
King opening. SRV still had the awesome guitar licks at that show but
Stevie's voice following BB's voice might as well have been Bob Dylan
following Tony Bennett.

Bob Steingraber (bobsteingraber) - 17 Jan 2006 01:04:25

I saw Stevie Ray in concert every time he came out to California,
and I hate to say it, but from the shows I saw, Steve was way
better when he was whacked out of his gourd. I'm glad he cleaned
up, and achieved peace before he moved on. Clean or high, SRV was
as great as any guitarist of any genre that I ever heard or saw.
His worst was better than just about anybody else's best.
