Surf Bass Wanted

canarsie98 - 15 Jan 2006 11:55:01

We are the rhythm section (guitar and drums) from the Aquamarines
starting a new project. Would like to keep it in the surf family.
We will be taking the traditional sound to higher levels. Not a
stuck in the 60's sound, but drawing from that energy and moving
forward.
We play a mix of melodic, rockin and rippin surf. Prefer a player
with a broad musical background who can play both
aggressive/sensitive and melodically to bring new flavors to this
music.
Would like someone with a good feel for the genre. Will be playing
some covers and exploring more, including original pieces. Will also
be playing with, as of yet, "uncovered in the surf genre" tunes,
thematic melodies, and soundtracks.
Please be able to practice once a week, work on the material at home
and be ready to go when we get together. If you are reliable, a team
player, have the equipment and transportation, we should talk.

Where are you located? If in Orange County, I would like to start a conversation
with you.

Good luck to Mark and Stu with the new project. I
can't wait to hear your new band! Thanks for
continuing to be big supporters of the scene in San
Francisco.
