Tenor Guitars

Spanky,
Thanks for the great site on Tenor Guitars!
I inherited one from my Father. It was always
In his workshop in the garage. I think it was
Not allowed in the house because there was an oil
Painting of a girl on it, that was NOT my Mother!
It's a beautiful little thing, All wood with
Ivory tuners. I think this one is from the
1930's because my parents were married in 1938.
I am sure this has a link to Surf Music, too.
There are many photos of the old surfers at
Waikiki or even Huntington Beach, when they had
The long Redwood Pintail Boards and some Balsawood,
Too. I have seen them playing various instruments,
Ukulele's and a tenor guitar was there.
And what they used for reverb at that time was a
Conch Shell, which also added the sound of waves!
Aloha, Kim
