The Madeira CD release show announcement

ipongrac - 28 Dec 2005 16:02:09

Hey all!
I'm very happy to announce that the official release show for our new
CD 'Sandstorm' (Double Crown) will take place on FRIDAY, JANUARY 27th
at the Melody Inn, in Indianapolis. Also performing will be
Chicago's trad-meisters RELUCTANT AQUANAUTS (their first appearance in
Indianapolis - the band of SG101's Bill!) and Vector Sigma's
DESTINATION: EARTH! (their first public performance for the citizens
of the third planet in over a year!!) This is gonna be a fun, fun,
FUN show, and you should not miss it! Book those flights now, get on
the train, start hitch-hiking, whatever it takes! :) Of course, I'm
kidding, but we do hope to see at least some of you from the list at
this show.
So, to sum up:

Ted,
too true, wish I coul dbe there too.
Kinda funny how someone in the middle of so much surf bands here in
So. Cal. yet when I hear about other cool shows I yearn to be at
those too. Guess Freddies right, we need to learn how to clone
ourselves.
Have a Great gig Ivan, and others, we'll be there in spirit.

Hey Ted, I wish I could muster up some cash to get out to see YOUR
show with the Nebulas and the 'Verb. 3 bands that I really like all
on one night! But what the hell? Surf bands are meant to be spread
apart, and fans are supposed to be spread out across the
country...it wouldn't be right any other way. :)
As far as our show in January goes. I'm looking foward to getting
there in one piece, sitting down and watching the Madeira. We were
blown away by the musicianship of the members of the Troubadors when
we saw them a few years ago, and what I've heard of the Madeira, it
sounds like Ivan's done it again. For anyone who hasn't seen Ivan
play this guy is not only great, but he's one of those guitarists
who has the touch,(and I don't mean touched in the head) it's really
a joy watching him play. So, we hope to see some people out there!
This should be a lot of fun! If you can get yourself to Chicago
we'll cram you into our van. :)

I see. It is all part of some grand scheme.

Ditto on all the above!! I'm actually gonna be in the Republic of
Georgia when all of three of these shows are taking place. Oh
well... Maybe at some point in the future...

Thanks for the nice words, Bill. I must reciprocate, as well. The
Reluctant Aquanauts debut CD is really cool! Folks, you owe it to
yourself to get it. Really great trad surf. The covers give the
game away: High Voltage by Jim Messina, Everybody Up! by the Fender
IV, Scratch by Eddie & the Showmen - and their originals are almost
as good as these classics, which is remarkable on its own! Great
playing (all three members, great drummer, too), great authentic
tones. If the guys could just add the fourth member, man, they'd be
unstoppable! ;) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to seeing them
play again.
It'll be a great show, I can't wait!

Thank you very much Ivan, I sure do appreciate that coming from
someone like yourself. Oh yeah, a fourth member would be REALLY
nice...maybe someday. :)
