Eric Hutchinson (ehutch247) - 24 Dec 2005 17:49:15

I happened to email "Professor Fred" from a local Comm College
monster/sci-fi show () about the
surf music being played in the background. I didn't expect anything
more than "ok, here's a list" so I was surprised with his reply and I
just thought I'd pass it along.
>>>>Thanks, Eric!
I'll forward your request about the incidental surf music used on the
show to my
producer, Carol Hasegawa and she can give you the straight skinny on
that.
I was in a surf band during the '80s and '90s here in Seattle. I'm
going down
to Anaheim as legal counsel for The Ventures next month, and I've
known them and
loved their music for years. I also enjoy Dick Dale and the late
Link Wray.
I've interviewed and I know Dickie Dodd (lead singer of The
Standells, but
drummer for Eddie & The Showmen and The Belairs--two classic L.A.
surf bands).
Surf was a wonderful musical idiom.
We are in the process of putting together a Prof. Fred and Igor and
The Movie
Marvels Band CD, which will include some surf music and various
monster-themed
tunes. Igor is a mighty monster bass player, believe me.
Stay tuned and Merry Christmas!

His cd may be something to look out for and I'm hoping for a
promotional show. Anyways, happy holidays everyone! God Jul och Gott
Nytt Ar.
Eric
