Today I got a wonderful Christmas Presant.
I am proud to announce that I am joining Universal Audio.
As most of you know, I have been looking for a new position for a
while, and have provided morale support, references, or just told me to
get off my duff, all of which is greatly appreciated.
In many ways it's a dream job. Nine minutes from home, great hours,
musicians and recording enginers everywhere, great audio processors to
work with, and a very freindly staff.
The best part is the position itself, which is all about improving
processes that affect the way the business runs. This has always been
my biggest strength, but few employers have the vision to have a
position dedicated to it. Most expect very busy people to do it on top
of everything else. I will be analyzing, creating, training,
mentoring... all the things I love to do in an environment where
everyone seems to be begging for it.
I'm almost afraid to pinch myself to see if it's real!
Anyway, thanks to all who offered help, all who listened and
encouraged, and all of my friends who mean so much to me.

Great news Phil. Congratulations. The 9 minutes from your home sounds
like the best part.

Phil, Glad to hear you have found that dream job. So few of us do find it, but
when you do
hold on with both hands and enjoy the ride. I got you beat on the ride to work
though. I
only live about 1.5 miles from work! Hey I just thought oof something, I seem to
remember you mentioning you may be doing a podcast. When and where?
Thanks

Thanks Guy! Gee - 1.5 miles!
I'm not yet ready to podcast. When I am, I'll post in in the groups and
there will be notice on my site as well. Q1 2007 I hope.

Hey Phil,
Congrats on your dream job!
As a project studio owner, I've always admired--ok,
lusted--over UA gear, but the price tag gave me reason
to pause. Would be nice if an insider can wrangle an
SG101 group buy.... :-)
Congrats, again...you deserve it!
Thanks,

Phil, All:
The album has been slow-going due to day-job and
family concerns (sound familiar to anyone here?). Our
"Cinnamon Girl" track on Cordelia Record's "Beyond The
Sea" comp hints at the shape of things to come from
us--we're not gonna be a trad surf band stuck in a
time warp in 1964, although we do look at that era
with reverence. The LP (or EP) is scheduled for
release in Spring or Early Summer 2006. And you, Phil,
are at the top of the list to get a copy.
Thanks,
Jonathan
