1. Re: error about Showman amps in the Fender Amps book (Teagle & Sprung)

Jerry (wipeoutboy63) - 16 Dec 2005 11:45:18

Hi Ivan,
I bought only a '66 Single Showman (AB763) Chassis that was complete but
lacked the cab. The price was low because of this.
So I made a cab for it + speaker cab with a single 15" (RI Jensen C15K)
and gave it a rough blonde tolex job + a Wheat grillcloth.
A friend of mine refurbished the electronics and put in a Euro PT.
I got now a very nice looking Showman which sounds very, very nice as
well and is like brand new, thus very reliable. And to Euro standards it
cost only a fraction of what I would have to pay for one here. Well, you
can argue about it being not entirely vintage correct, but hey...so
what...Anyway the amp turns quiet a few heads when we gig....
-Jerry S.
I'm gonna bid on that Showman - as long
as it doesn't go above $500 (which all of them have been doing
recently, dammit!).
And yes, SG101 and eBay is where I spend pretty much all of my
internet time! We're very, very sad people.... :)
