I just bought a MIJ Jaguar...for $400! But it lacks the trem arm. Will
any Jag arm fit, or do I need one specifically for my MIJ? And where
is the best place to find one? If anyone has a spare trem arm, I'd
gladly pay a fair price for it.
Gavin
Congrats Gavin! What color is it?
I think you can buy those from Smart Parts, an authorized Fender parts
dealer. Your best bet is to call them directly (don't bother with their
pathetic web site) and make sure you specify that its for a MIJ Jaguar. I
believe that although you could make a vintage or MIA trem arm work, the MIJ
version will work out the best for you. The whole collet thingy is a bit
different on the MIJ's so its likely that the dimensions and where the arm
bends will be different.
Get their phone number from here:

PS While you're calling them...order some MIA Jag pickups too...they are
cheaper than Seymour Duncans and sound awesome...

Hi Gavin,
Both MIJ/CIJ Jazzmaster or Jaguar Trem arms will fit the MIJ Jaguar. Be
sure to get a MIJ/CIJ trem arm, since the MIA trem arm is different in
diameter, so it won't fit properly or not at all. Also don't get a
vintage part, since it has a different diameter as well
I got very lucky a few weeks back when I was looking for a MIJ/CIJ trem
arm as well, a local music store seam to have one in a forgotten box
behind a counter and I got it for free, I put it on my CIJ Jazzmaster.
I assume the previous owner din't use the trem arm, so it will be a
mather of just putting it in. Should it be a bit to loose, use some
teflon tape around it to tight it a bit before unscrewing the entire
tailpiece.
Well, you are a very lucky guy getting this beautiful gutair for just
$400!
Have lot's of fun playing it,
Jerry S. from Belgium.
