I lurk here mostly, but wanted to share a very short
clip of the Los Straitjackets Christmas Pageant up in
Seattle. I got to attend the Portland and Seattle
shows and was right up against the stage both times.
What a blast! We considered catching them a third
time in Eugene, OR, but we were too damn wiped out
from the prior evening's commute. Enjoy!

Gearho,
A) The link doesn't work??
B) Do you mean to tell me that Los Straightjackets
played here in Seattle three days ago, and no one
knew about it????? Either people were hoarding
the tour schedule (perhaps hoping to get the best
seats for themselves), or no one who regularly
contributes to this list knew. I'd call that a
damned shame.
C) Their website doesn't corroborate this event,
but maybe they're just keeping it up to date,
and dropping shows as they happen. Argh!
D) And no, alas, I just don't have the time to
duplicate my surfing habits. The way I see, if
the story doesn't get told in SG101, then most
likely it doesn't need to be told. This is the
exception that proves the rule. Argh again.

I couldnt get that link to work either
the YEP ROC Records label still has the tour dates listed
too bad man
Unsteady Freddie
p.s. I am looking to catch up with them in ANNAPOLIS on Monday,
then Tues and Wed in NYC!
Freddie,
Thanks for the link, it confirms what gearho said.
<sigh> Unfortunately, it was at the Tractor, one of
Seattle's best venues both for performing and for
watching performances, but sadly also the most
infamous for cancelling shows at the last minute.
I don't consciously try to avoid the place, but
I also don't go out of my way to patronize them
anymore - too many burn jobs over way too many
years.
Maybe you can clone yourself and start working on
the proper coast! <lol> Thanks again.

clone myself?
you mean my multiple personalities doesn't suffice?
Unsteady Freddie
We need you here Freddy. By here I mean Seattle. We have several bands
but we never play together. We are working on a show with the
Verbtones in Portland. Those are cool guys and they actually want to
get out and play whenever.

....next year for sure
about a show you are working on...maybe announce it here or write me
off-line.....perhaps I can spread the news for ya?
thx for the luv by the way
Unsteady Freddie
p.s. forgive me for asking this - you are with THE VERB? yes?
could you send me some of your music please? mp3's one song per
email? burn me a CD for my radio shows? thx man

Sorry about that. It's back up now, but I had pulled
it last night. I posted that right after receiving the
file, but I later questioned the wisdom of posting
such a thing. It was a regular digital camera that had
could shoot 20 secs. of video 9 ( at the expense of
discharging the batteries) Then I thought, "heck, it's
only 20 $%#@ seconds!", so I just loaded it up again.
I don't think the band would care, but if someone
disagrees, I'll pull it.

I'm pretty sure it was posted here. The club they
play at Portland does its own promotion ( almost none)
but the band must get a better deal for playing there.
The place was pretty full.
I think the Tractor Tavern in Ballard is their usual
Seattle stop, so I'm on the Tractor's email list for
upcoming gigs. Sorry you missed it. The Tractor was
packed and pretty energetic. Here's that link again.
The Pontani's were great!

It was updated the next morning. I was really
surprised. Danny Amis has his own website now, so
maybe he's keeping closer tabs on the band's site as
well.

What was the name of the first band that played? One of the members played
one of the small keyboards that you blow air into to play. I used to have
one of those and never thought I'd actually see someone playing it on stage.
For the life of me I can't remember what they're called.

Yeah, now I'm po'ed for missing the show! That clip was
great, thanks!
And Phil had another link that had previous dates still
listed, so I could see just how much I had let things
slip from my attention zone. Sigh.
Yet several more bookmarks to add to the growing
collection. You realize this is gonna carve some
serious time out of my sleeping habit, don't you? <g>

Don't know, for very obvious reasons. <sigh>

Are you thinking of a Melodica? (aka the Pocket Piano.)
Try <>, and see if
that's the right animal.

I think you can hear the melodica on the super-classic "Theme from
Endless Summer" by the Sandals. Fits so well there....

Awesome! Love the FAQ and gallery! :-)

That was "Lushy" from Seattle. Not my cup of tea, but
they were sure enjoying themselves.

It's in our best interest to get as many as possible
to those shows, so I'll be happy to "sound the alarm"
if I see something significant coming our way. I
bought the LS tickets a few days before the show in
Portland and I panicked when I saw that I had
purchased ticket #'s 38 and 39! I thought "Oh no!
They're getting crappy turnout and won't come back!"
but apparently there's a lot of walk-in audience at
that venue.
